If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, since I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
God, the proud have risen up against me. A company of violent men have sought after my soul, and they do not hold regard for you before them.

Whoever will cause one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him if he was thrown into the sea with a millstone hung around his neck.
He said to the disciples, "It is impossible that no occasions of stumbling should come, but woe to him through whom they come.

For the son dishonors the father, the daughter rises up against her mother, the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; a man's enemies are the men of his own house.

On the next day, he took out two denarii, and gave them to the host, and said to him, 'Take care of him. Whatever you spend beyond that, I will repay you when I return.' Now which of these three do you think seemed to be a neighbor to him who fell among the robbers?" He said, "He who showed mercy on him." Then Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise."
"If you meet your enemy's ox or his donkey going astray, you shall surely bring it back to him again. If you see the donkey of him who hates you fallen down under his burden, do not leave him, you shall surely help him with it.
Do not rejoice when your enemy falls. Do not let your heart be glad when he is overthrown; lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.
Then Saul said, "I have sinned. Return, my son David; for I will no more do you harm, because my life was precious in your eyes this day. Behold, I have played the fool, and have erred exceedingly."
Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

But the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me, that through me the message might be fully proclaimed, and that all the Gentiles might hear; and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me for his heavenly Kingdom; to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
Withstand him steadfast in your faith, knowing that your brothers who are in the world are undergoing the same sufferings.
for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty in God for the tearing down of strongholds,
Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil. My cup runs over.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

In you, LORD, I take refuge. Never let me be disappointed. Deliver me in your righteousness, and rescue me. Turn your ear to me, and save me. Be to me a rock of refuge to which I may always go. Give the command to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress.read more.

From now on, there is stored up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give to me on that day; and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved his appearing.
The last enemy that will be abolished is death.
For you have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.
but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who abolished death, and brought life and immortality to light through the Good News.
Death and hell were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.
He will wipe away from them every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more. The first things have passed away."
