'Fruit' in the Bible
“When you come into the land and plant any kind of tree for food, you are to consider the fruit forbidden. It will be forbidden to you for three years; it is not to be eaten.
In the fourth year all its fruit must be consecrated as a praise offering to the Lord.
But in the fifth year you may eat its fruit. In this way its yield will increase for you; I am Yahweh your God.
Then the land will yield its fruit, so that you can eat, be satisfied, and live securely in the land.
I will give you rain at the right time, and the land will yield its produce, and the trees of the field will bear their fruit.
and your strength will be used up for nothing. Your land will not yield its produce, and the trees of the land will not bear their fruit.
“Every tenth of the land’s produce, grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the Lord; it is holy to the Lord.
