Concerning The Collection For The Saints

1 With regard to the collection for the saints, you must carry out the same arrangements as I made for the churches of Galatia.

1 Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye.

1 Now concerning (A)the collection for (B)the saints, as (C)I directed the churches of (D)Galatia, so do you also.

1 Now about the collection(A) for the saints: You should do the same as I instructed the Galatian(B) churches.

1 Now concerning the collection for the saints, you should follow the directions I gave to the churches in Galatia.

2 On the first day of the week let each of you put aside a sum from his weekly gains, so that the money may not have to be collected when I come.

2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

2 On (E)the first day of every week each one of you is to (a)put aside and save, as he may prosper, so that (F)no collections be made when I come.

2 On the first day of the week,(a)(C) each of you is to set something aside and save in keeping with how he prospers, so that no collections will need to be made when I come.(D)

2 After the Sabbath ends, each of you should set aside and save something from your surplus in proportion to what you have, so that no collections will have to be made when I arrive.

3 On my arrival I will furnish credentials for those whom you select, and send them to convey your bounty to Jerusalem;

3 And when I come, whomsoever ye shall approve by your letters, them will I send to bring your liberality unto Jerusalem.

3 When I arrive, (G)whomever you may approve, I will send them with letters to carry your gift to Jerusalem;

3 When I arrive, I will send with letters(E) those you recommend to carry your gracious gift to Jerusalem.(F)

3 When I arrive, I will send letters along with the men you approve to take your gift to Jerusalem.

4 if the sum makes it worth my while to go too, they shall accompany me.

4 And if it be meet that I go also, they shall go with me.

4 and if it is fitting for me to go also, they will go with me.

4 If it is suitable for me to go as well, they can travel with me.

4 If it is worthwhile for me to go, too, they can go with me.

Travel Plans For Paul And Associates

5 I mean to visit you after my tour in Macedonia, for I am going to make a tour through Macedonia.

5 Now I will come unto you, when I shall pass through Macedonia: for I do pass through Macedonia.

5 But I (H)will come to you after I go through (I)Macedonia, for I (J)am going through Macedonia;

5 I will come to you after I pass through Macedonia(G)—for I will be traveling through Macedonia—

5 I will visit you when I go through Macedonia for I intend to go through Macedonia

6 The chances are, I shall spend some time with you, possibly even pass the winter with you, so that you may speed me forward on any journey that lies before me.

6 And it may be that I will abide, yea, and winter with you, that ye may bring me on my journey whithersoever I go.

6 and perhaps I will stay with you, or even spend the winter, so that you may (K)send me on my way wherever I may go.

6 and perhaps I will remain with you or even spend the winter, so that you may send me on my way wherever I go.

6 and will probably stay with you for a while or even spend the winter with you. Then you can send me on my way, wherever I decide to go.

7 I do not care about seeing you at this moment merely in the by-going; my hope is to stay among you for some time, with the Lord's permission.

7 For I will not see you now by the way; but I trust to tarry a while with you, if the Lord permit.

7 For I do not wish to see you now (L)just in passing; for I hope to remain with you for some time, (M)if the Lord permits.

7 I don’t want to see you now just in passing, for I hope to spend some time with you, if the Lord allows.(H)

7 I do not want to visit with you now just in passing, because I hope to spend a longer time with you if the Lord permits.

8 I am staying on for the present at Ephesus till Pentecost,

8 But I will tarry at Ephesus until Pentecost.

8 But I will remain in (N)Ephesus until (O)Pentecost;

8 But I will stay in Ephesus(I) until Pentecost,(J)

8 However, I'll stay on in Ephesus until Pentecost,

9 for I have wide opportunities here for active service ??and there are many to thwart me.

9 For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.

9 for a (P)wide door (b)for effective service has opened to me, and (Q)there are many adversaries.

9 because a wide door(K) for effective ministry has opened for me(b)—yet many oppose me.

9 because a door has opened wide for me to do effective work, although many people are opposing me.

News About Timothy, Apollos, And Others

10 When Timotheus arrives, see that you make him feel quite at home with you; he carries on the work of the Lord as I do.

10 Now if Timotheus come, see that he may be with you without fear: for he worketh the work of the Lord, as I also do.

10 Now if (R)Timothy comes, see that he is with you without (c)cause to be afraid, for he is doing (S)the Lord’s work, as I also am.

10 If Timothy comes, see that he has nothing to fear from you, because he is doing the Lord’s work,(L) just as I am.

10 If Timothy comes, see to it that he does not have anything to be afraid of while he is with you, for he is doing the Lord's work as I am.

11 So let no one disparage him. When he leaves to rejoin me, speed him cordially on his journey, for I am expecting him along with the other brothers.

11 Let no man therefore despise him: but conduct him forth in peace, that he may come unto me: for I look for him with the brethren.

11 (T)So let no one despise him. But (U)send him on his way (V)in peace, so that he may come to me; for I expect him with the brethren.

11 Therefore, no one should look down(M) on him. Send him on his way in peace so he can come to me, for I am expecting him with the brothers.(c)

11 Therefore, no one should treat him with contempt. Send him on his way in peace so that he may come to me, because I am expecting him along with the brothers.

12 As for our brother Apollos, I urged him to accompany the other brothers on a visit to you; he will come as soon as he has time, but for the present it is not the will of God that he should visit you.

12 As touching our brother Apollos, I greatly desired him to come unto you with the brethren: but his will was not at all to come at this time; but he will come when he shall have convenient time.

12 But concerning (W)Apollos our brother, I encouraged him greatly to come to you with the brethren; and it was not at all his desire to come now, but he will come when he has opportunity.

12 About our brother Apollos:(N) I strongly urged him to come to you with the brothers, but he was not at all willing to come now. However, he will come when he has an opportunity.

12 Now concerning our brother Apollos, I strongly urged him to visit you with the other brothers, but he was not inclined to do so just now. However, he will visit you when the time is right.
