The Ten Commandments

⁵ See that thou neither bow thyself unto them neither serve them: for I, the LORD thy God, am a jealous God, and visit the sin of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me: ⁶ and yet show mercy unto thousands among them that love me and keep my commandments. ⁷ "Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

Deuteronomy 7:9

Understand, therefore, that the LORD thy God, he is God: and that a true God, which keepeth covenant and mercy unto them that love him and keep his commandments, even throughout a thousand generations;
