Regulations Regarding Hebrew Slaves

¹ “Now these are the ordinances (laws) which you shall set before the Israelites: ² “If you purchase a Hebrew servant [because of his debt or poverty], he shall serve six years, and in the seventh [year] he shall leave as a free man, paying nothing.

Deuteronomy 4:14

The Lord commanded me at that time to teach you the statutes and judgments, so that you might do them in the land which you are going over to possess.

Finally, believers, we ask and admonish you in the Lord Jesus, that you follow the instruction that you received from us about how you ought to walk and please God (just as you are actually doing) and that you excel even more and more [pursuing a life of purpose and living in a way that expresses gratitude to God for your salvation].
