² And I will send before thee a messenger,-and will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite; ³ into a land flowing with milk and honey, - for I will not go up in thy midst in that a stiff-necked people, thou art, lest I consume thee in the way. ⁴ And when the people heard these evil tidings, they afflicted themselves, - and they put not, any man, his ornaments upon him.

Exodus 3:8

therefore have I come down to deliver them from the hand of the Egyptians, and to take them up out of that land, into a land good and large, into a land flowing with milk and honey, - into the place of the Canaanite and the Hittite, and the Amorite and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite.
