² “For six days work may be done, but the seventh day shall be a holy day for you, a Sabbath of complete rest to the Lord; whoever does any kind of work on that day shall be put to death. ³ You shall not kindle a fire in any of your dwellings on the Sabbath day.” ⁴ And Moses said to all the congregation of the sons of Israel, “This is the thing which the Lord has commanded:

Exodus 16:23

He said to them, “This is what the Lord has said: ‘Tomorrow is a solemn rest, a holy Sabbath to the Lord’; bake and boil what you will bake and boil [today], and all that remains left over put aside for yourselves to keep until morning.”
