Purification Of Jerusalem

²⁴ That is why Jehovah, Jehovah of Hosts, the Mighty One of Israel, says: How horrible it will be when I take revenge on my opponents! I will avenge myself against my enemies. ²⁵ “I will also turn My hand against you,
And will smelt away your dross as with lye
And will remove all your alloy.
²⁶ I will give you judges like you had long ago, advisers like you had in the beginning. After that you will be called the Righteous City, the Faithful City.

Malachi 3:3

He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver. He will purify the sons of Levi, and refine them like gold and silver. Then they will offer to Jehovah offerings in righteousness.

Isaiah 1:22

Ezekiel 22:20

As they gather silver and copper and iron and lead and tin into the furnace to blow fire on it in order to melt it, so I will gather you in my anger and in my wrath and I will lay you there and melt (liquefy) you.

Ezekiel 22:22

As silver is melted in the furnace, you will be melted in the midst of her. You will know that I, Jehovah, have poured out my wrath on you.'

Zephaniah 3:11

At that time you will no longer be ashamed of your transgression against me. I will remove everyone who is proud and arrogant. You will never again be haughty on my holy mountain.

Zechariah 13:7-9

Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow (neighbor) (companion), said Jehovah of Hosts: Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered! I will turn my hand upon (against) the little ones.

Matthew 3:12
