Oracle Of Judgment On Damascus

² The cities of Aroer (three places near Palestine) will be deserted forever. They will be places for flocks to lie down, and no one will make them afraid. ³ “The fortified city will disappear from Ephraim,
And sovereignty from Damascus
And the remnant of Aram;
They will be like the glory of the sons of Israel,”
Declares the Lord of hosts.
⁴ Then the glory of Jacob will be brought low, and the fat of his flesh will grow lean (riches, strength and glory will diminish).

Isaiah 7:16

But before the boy knows enough to reject the wrong and choose the right, the land of the two kings you dread will be laid waste.

Isaiah 8:4

Before the boy knows how to say Father or Mother the wealth of Damascus and the loot from Samaria will be carried away to the king of Assyria.

The people of Ephraim have become important among their relatives. However, Jehovah's scorching wind will come from the east. It will blow out of the desert. Then their springs will run dry, and their wells will dry up. The wind will destroy every precious thing in their storehouses.
