³⁴ And calling the multitude to him with his disciples also, he said to them, Whoever chooseth to follow me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. ³⁵ For whoever chooseth to save his life, will lose it; but whoever shall lose his life for the sake of me and of the glad tidings, will save it. ³⁶ For what doth it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his life?
