In those days came John the Baptist preaching in the desert of Judea;


Great crowds followed him from Galilee, from the ten towns, from Jerusalem, and Judea, and from beyond Jordan.

One day he was teaching, and near to him were seated Pharisees and teachers of the Law, who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem; and the power of the Lord was with him to heal.

When he heard that Jesus had come from Judea into Galilee, he went to him, and begged him to come down and heal his son who was lying at the point of death.

This is the second sign which Jesus performed, on returning from Judea to Galilee.


It came about after Jesus had finished these teachings, that he removed from Galilee, and went to that part of Judea which lay across the Jordan.

But they repeatedly insisted, "He is stirring up the people throughout all Judea with his teaching which started from Galilee."

On leaving that place Jesus came into the borders of Judea, on the other side of the Jordan, Once more the people flocked about him, and again, as usual, he began teaching them.


In those days came John the Baptist preaching in the desert of Judea;

And John went into all the region about the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
