4 I have said to the boasters, Do not boast, And to the lawless, Do not lift up a horn;

4 “I said to the boastful, ‘Do not boast,’And to the wicked, ‘(H)Do not lift up the horn;

4 I said unto the fools, Deal not foolishly: and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn:

4 I say to the boastful, ‘Do not boast,’and to the wicked, ‘Do not lift up your horn.(E)

4 I will say to the proud, "Don't brag," and to the wicked, "Don't vaunt your strength.

5 Do not lift up on high your horn, Nor speak of the Rock, with arrogance;

5 Do not lift up your horn on high,(I)Do not speak with insolent (d)pride.’”

5 Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck.

5 Do not lift up your horn against heavenor speak arrogantly.’”(F)

6 For neither from east nor west, Nor from the wilderness of thee mountains cometh exaltation ;

6 For not from the east, nor from the west,Nor from the (e)(J)desert comes exaltation;

6 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.

6 Exaltation does not comefrom the east, the west, or the desert,

6 For exaltation comes not from the east, the west, or the wilderness,

7 For, God himself, is about to judge, One, he will cast down, Another, he will lift up;

7 But (K)God is the Judge;He (L)puts down one and exalts another.

7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.

7 for God is the Judge:He brings down one and exalts another.(G)

8 For, a cup, is in the hand of Yahweh, Whose wine is foaming, It is full of spiced wine, Which he hath caused to flow from one to another, - Surely, the dregs thereof, they shall drain out - they shall drink, Even all the lawless ones of the earth.

8 For a (M)cup is in the hand of the Lord, and the wine foams;It is (f)(N)well mixed, and He pours out of this;Surely all the wicked of the earth must drain and (O)drink down its dregs.

8 For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them.

8 For there is a cup in the Lord’s hand,full of wine blended with spices, and He pours from it.All the wicked of the earth will drink,draining it to the dregs.(H)

8 For there is a cup in the hand of the LORD, foaming with well-mixed wine that he will pour out, leaving only the dregs, from which all the wicked of the earth will drink.

9 But, I, will exult unto times age-abiding, I will sing praises unto the God of Jacob;

9 But as for me, I will (P)declare it forever;I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.

9 But I will declare for ever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.

9 As for me, I will tell about Him forever;I will sing praise to the God of Jacob.(I)

9 But as for me, I will declare forever, singing praise to the God of Jacob.

10 But, all the horns of the lawless, will I hew off, - Exalted shall be the horns of the Righteous One.

10 And all the (Q)horns of the wicked (g)He will cut off,But (R)the horns of the righteous will be lifted up.

10 All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.

10 “I will cut off all the horns of the wicked,(J)but the horns of the righteous will be lifted up.”(K)
