Confidence In A Time Of Crisis

1 To the Overseer, for Jeduthun. -- A Psalm of Asaph. My voice is to God, and I cry, my voice is to God, And He hath given ear unto me.

1 {To the chief Musician, to Jeduthun, A Psalm of Asaph.} I cried unto God with my voice, even unto God with my voice; and he gave ear unto me.

1 I cry out to God! I cry out to God and he hears me.

2 In a day of my distress the Lord I sought, My hand by night hath been spread out, And it doth not cease, My soul hath refused to be comforted.

2 In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord: my sore ran in the night, and ceased not: my soul refused to be comforted.

2 In the (B)day of my trouble I sought the Lord;(C)In the night my (D)hand was stretched out (b)without weariness;My soul (E)refused to be comforted.

2 I sought the Lord in my day of trouble.My hands were continually lifted upall night long;I refused to be comforted.(C)

2 When I was in distress, I sought the Lord; my hands were raised at night and they did not grow weary. I refused to be comforted.

3 I remember God, and make a noise, I meditate, and feeble is my spirit. Selah.

3 I remembered God, and was troubled: I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah.

4 Thou hast taken hold of the watches of mine eyes, I have been moved, and I speak not.

6 I remember my music in the night, With my heart I meditate, and my spirit doth search diligently:

7 To the ages doth the Lord cast off? Doth He add to be pleased no more?

7 Will the Lord cast off for ever? and will he be favourable no more?

7 Will the Lord (M)reject forever?And will He (N)never be favorable again?

7 “Will the Lord reject foreverand never again show favor?(H)

7 Will the Lord reject me forever and not show favor again?

8 Hath His kindness ceased for ever? The saying failed to all generations?

8 Is his mercy clean gone for ever? doth his promise fail for evermore?

8 Has His (O)lovingkindness ceased forever?Has His (e)(P)promise come to an end (f)forever?

8 Has His faithful love ceased forever?Is His promise at an end for all generations?(I)

8 Has his gracious love ceased forever? Will his promise be unfulfilled in future generations?

9 Hath God forgotten His favours? Hath He shut up in anger His mercies? Selah.

9 Hath God forgotten to be gracious? hath he in anger shut up his tender mercies? Selah.

10 And I say: 'My weakness is, The changes of the right hand of the Most High.'

10 And I said, This is my infirmity: but I will remember the years of the right hand of the most High.

10 So I say, “I am grieved(a)that the right hand of the Most High has changed.”(K)

10 So I say: "It causes me pain that the right hand of the Most High has changed."

11 I mention the doings of Jah, For I remember of old Thy wonders,

11 I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old.

11 I shall remember the (U)deeds of (i)the Lord;Surely I will (V)remember Your wonders of old.

11 I will remember the Lord’s works;yes, I will remember Your ancient wonders.(L)

11 I will remember the LORD'S deeds; indeed, I will remember your awesome deeds from long ago.

12 And I have meditated on all Thy working, And I talk concerning Thy doings.

12 I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.

12 I will (W)meditate on all Your workAnd muse on Your deeds.

12 I will reflect on all You have doneand meditate on Your actions.(M)

12 As I meditate on all your works, I will consider your awesome deeds.

13 O God, in holiness is Thy way, Who is a great god like God?

13 Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God?

13 Your way, O God, is (X)holy;(Y)What god is great like our God?

13 God, Your way is holy.What god is great like God?(N)

13 God, your way is holy. What god is like our great God?

14 Thou art the God doing wonders. Thou hast made known among the peoples Thy strength,

14 Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people.

14 You are the (Z)God who works wonders;You have (AA)made known Your strength among the peoples.

14 You are the God who works wonders;You revealed Your strength among the peoples.(O)

14 God, you are the one performing awesome deeds. You reveal your might among the nations.
