God's Protection In Times Of Crisis

1 He dwelling in the covering of the Most High, in the shadow of the Almighty shall he lodge.

1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

1 He who dwells in the (A)shelter of the Most HighWill abide in the (B)shadow of the Almighty.

1 The one who lives under the protection of the Most Highdwells in the shadow of the Almighty.(A)

1 The one who lives in the shelter of the Most High, who rests in the shadow of the Almighty,

2 Saying to Jehovah, My refuge and my fortress: my God, I will trust in thee

2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

2 I will say to the Lord, “My (C)refuge and my (D)fortress,My God, in whom I (E)trust!”

2 I will say(a) to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,my God, in whom I trust.”(B)

2 will say to the LORD, "You are my refuge, my fortress, and my God in whom I trust!"

3 For he will deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, from the word of ruin.

3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

3 For it is He who delivers you from the (F)snare of the trapperAnd from the deadly (G)pestilence.

3 He Himself will deliver you from the hunter’s net,(C)from the destructive plague.

3 He will surely deliver you from the hunter's snare and from the destructive plague.

4 He will cover thee with his wing feathers, and under his wings thou shalt trust: his truth a shield and buckler.

4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

4 He will (H)cover you with His pinions,And (I)under His wings you may seek refuge;His (J)faithfulness is a (K)shield and bulwark.

4 He will cover you with His feathers;you will take refuge under His wings.(D)His faithfulness will be a protective shield.(E)

4 With his feathers he will cover you, under his wings you will find safety. His truth is your shield and armor.

5 Thou Shalt not be afraid from terror the night; from the arrow that will fly the day;

5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

5 You (L)will not be afraid of the (M)terror by night,Or of the (N)arrow that flies by day;

5 You will not fear the terror of the night,the arrow that flies by day,(F)

5 You need not fear terror that stalks in the night, the arrow that flies in the day,

6 From the word that shall go in darkness: from the cutting off that shall lay waste the noon-day.

6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

7 A thousand shall fall from thy side, and ten thousand from thy right hand; and to thee it shall not reach.

7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

7 A thousand may fall at your sideAnd ten thousand at your right hand,But (Q)it shall not approach you.

7 Though a thousand fall at your sideand ten thousand at your right hand,the pestilence will not reach you.(H)

7 If a thousand fall at your side or ten thousand at your right hand, it will not overcome you.

8 Only with thine eyes thou shalt look and thou shalt see the retribution of the unjust

8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

8 You will only look on with your eyesAnd (R)see the recompense of the wicked.

8 You will only see it with your eyesand witness the punishment of the wicked.(I)

8 Only observe it with your eyes, and you will see how the wicked are paid back.

9 For thou, O Jehovah, my trust; thou didst set the Most High thy refuge.

9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

9 (b)For you have made the Lord, (S)my refuge,Even the Most High, (T)your dwelling place.

9 Because you have made the Lord—my refuge,(J)the Most High—your dwelling place,(K)

9 "LORD, you are my refuge!" Because you chose the Most High as your dwelling place,

10 Evil shall not approach to thee, and a blow shall not come near in thy tent

10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

10 (U)No evil will befall you,Nor will any plague come near your (c)tent.

10 no harm will come to you;no plague will come near your tent.(L)

10 no evil will fall upon you, and no affliction will approach your tent,

11 For he will command his messengers for thee, to watch thee in all thy ways.

11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

11 For He will give (V)His angels charge concerning you,To guard you in all your ways.

11 For He will give His angels orders concerning you,to protect you in all your ways.(M)

11 for he will command his angels to protect you in all your ways.

12 Upon the hands shall they lift thee up, lest thou shalt strike thy foot against a stone.

12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

12 They will (W)bear you up in their hands,That you do not strike your foot against a stone.

12 They will support you with their handsso that you will not strike your foot against a stone.(N)

12 With their hands they will lift you up so you will not trip over a stone.

13 Upon the lion and the asp, shalt thou tread: thou shalt tread down the young lion and the dragon.

13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

13 You will (X)tread upon the lion and cobra,The young lion and the (d)serpent you will trample down.

13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;you will trample the young lion and the serpent.(O)

13 You will stomp on lions and snakes; you will trample young lions and serpents.

14 For he delighted in me and I will deliver him: I will exalt him, for he knew my name.

14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

14 (Y)Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him;I will (Z)set him securely on high, because he has (AA)known My name.

14 Because he is lovingly devoted to Me,I will deliver him;I will protect him because he knows My name.(P)

14 Because he has focused his love on me, I will deliver him. I will protect him because he knows my name.

15 He shall call me and I will answer him: I am with him in straits; I will deliver him and honor him.

15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

15 “He will (AB)call upon Me, and I will answer him;I will be with him in (e)trouble;I will rescue him and (AC)honor him.

15 When he calls out to Me, I will answer him;I will be with him in trouble.I will rescue him and give him honor.(Q)

15 When he calls out to me, I will answer him. I will be with him in his distress. I will deliver him, and I will honor him.

16 With length of days will I satisfy him, and I will cause him to look upon my salvation.

16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
