Zechariah 3:9

Zechariah's Fourth Vision

⁸ Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, you and your friends who sit before you. They are men that are a sign. I will bring forth my servant the Branch (Sprout)! ⁹ For behold, the stone that I have set before Joshua; on one stone are seven eyes. Behold, I will engrave an inscription on it,’ declares the Lord of hosts, ‘and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day. ¹⁰ In that day, said Jehovah of Hosts, you will invite every man and his neighbor under the vine and under the fig tree.'

Isaiah 28:16

Therefore this is what The Sovereign Lord Jehovah says: Behold, I lay in Zion a stone for a foundation. It is a tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; whoever believes will not act hastily.

Jeremiah 50:20

Revelation 5:6

Exodus 28:11

Engrave the names of the sons of Israel on the two stones the same way a jeweler engraves a signet ring. Mount them in gold settings.

The stones represent the twelve sons of Israel, by name, each stone engraved like a signet ring with the name of one of the twelve tribes.

He does not have a day-by-day need as the high priests do, first to offer up sacrifices for his own sins, then for those of the people. He sacrificed for sin once for all when he offered up himself.

Neither should he offer himself as the high priest enters into the Holy Place every year with blood of others.

We are sanctified by his will through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

He is the propitiation (Greek: hilasmos: atonement, compensation) for our sins. Not for ours only, but also for the whole world.
