､ בַּֽיהוָ֑ה

in Yahweh ､

רָ֤חַב

עַל־

‘al-

at

– א֣וֹיְבַ֔י

’ō·wy·ḇay,

my enemies –

כִּ֥י

kî

שָׂמַ֖חְתִּי

śā·maḥ·tî

. בִּישׁוּעָתֶֽךָ׃

bî·šū·‘ā·ṯe·ḵā.

in Your salvation .

like Yahweh ､

[there is] none

בִּלְתֶּ֑ךָ

and [there is] no

the God

of knowledge ､

[ולא]

and by Him

נִתְכְּנ֖וּ

niṯ·kə·nū

. עֲלִלֽוֹת׃

‘ă·li·lō·wṯ.

קֶ֥שֶׁת

The bows

גִּבֹּרִ֖ים

gib·bō·rîm

of the mighty men

､ חַתִּ֑ים

ḥat·tîm;

[are] broken ､

וְנִכְשָׁלִ֖ים

wə·niḵ·šā·lîm

and those who stumbled

אָ֥זְרוּ

’ā·zə·rū

are girded with

. חָֽיִל׃

ḥā·yil.

שְׂבֵעִ֤ים

śə·ḇê·‘îm

[Those who were] full

– בַּלֶּ֙חֶם֙

bal·le·ḥem

נִשְׂכָּ֔רוּ

niś·kā·rū,

have hired themselves out

וּרְעֵבִ֖ים

ū·rə·‘ê·ḇîm

and the hungry

– חָדֵ֑לּוּ

ḥā·ḏêl·lū;

have ceased [to hunger] –

עַד־

‘aḏ-

עֲקָרָה֙

‘ă·qā·rāh

יָלְדָ֣ה

yā·lə·ḏāh

– שִׁבְעָ֔ה

šiḇ·‘āh,

וְרַבַּ֥ת

wə·rab·baṯ

and she who has many

בָּנִ֖ים

bā·nîm

. אֻמְלָֽלָה׃

’um·lā·lāh.

has become feeble .

יְהוָ֖ה

Yah·weh

､ מֵמִ֣ית

mê·mîṯ

– וּמְחַיֶּ֑ה

ū·mə·ḥay·yeh;

and makes alive –

מוֹרִ֥יד

mō·w·rîḏ

､ שְׁא֖וֹל

šə·’ō·wl

to the grave ､

. וַיָּֽעַל׃

way·yā·‘al.

and brings up .

יְהוָ֖ה

Yah·weh

､ מוֹרִ֣ישׁ

mō·w·rîš

– וּמַעֲשִׁ֑יר

ū·ma·‘ă·šîr;

and makes rich –

､ מַשְׁפִּ֖יל

maš·pîl

He brings low ､

אַף־

’ap̄-

and

. מְרוֹמֵֽם׃

mə·rō·w·mêm.

lifts up .

מֵקִ֨ים

mê·qîm

､ מֵעָפָ֜ר

mê·‘ā·p̄ār

from the dust ､

דָּ֗ל

dāl,

the poor

､ מֵֽאַשְׁפֹּת֙

mê·’aš·pōṯ

from the ash heap ､

יָרִ֣ים

yā·rîm

[And] lifts

אֶבְי֔וֹן

’eḇ·yō·wn,

לְהוֹשִׁיב֙

lə·hō·wō·šîḇ

עִם־

‘im-

､ נְדִיבִ֔ים

nə·ḏî·ḇîm,

וְכִסֵּ֥א

wə·ḵis·sê

and the throne

– כָב֖וֹד

ḵā·ḇō·wḏ

of glory –

יַנְחִלֵ֑ם

yan·ḥi·lêm;

make them inherit

כִּ֤י

kî

､ לַֽיהוָה֙

Yah·weh

of Yahweh ､

מְצֻ֣קֵי

mə·ṣu·qê

אֶ֔רֶץ

’e·reṣ,

of the earth [are]

וַיָּ֥שֶׁת

way·yā·šeṯ

and He has set

עֲלֵיהֶ֖ם

‘ă·lê·hem

. תֵּבֵֽל׃

tê·ḇêl.

the world .

רַגְלֵ֤י

raḡ·lê

The feet

[חסידו]

ḥă·sî·ḏōw

､ (חֲסִידָיו֙)

ḥă·sî·ḏāw

יִשְׁמֹ֔ר

yiš·mōr,

He will guard

וּרְשָׁעִ֖ים

ū·rə·šā·‘îm

but the wicked

– בַּחֹ֣שֶׁךְ

ba·ḥō·šeḵ

in darkness –

יִדָּ֑מּוּ

yid·dām·mū;

shall be silent

כִּֽי־

בְכֹ֖חַ

יִגְבַּר־

yiḡ·bar-

shall be broken in pieces

the adversaries of

He will thunder

will judge

the ends

of the earth –

וְיִתֶּן־

wə·yit·ten-

and He will give

､ לְמַלְכּ֔וֹ

to His king ､

וְיָרֵ֖ם

קֶ֥רֶן

the horn

. מְשִׁיחֽוֹ׃

of His anointed .

a sacrifice ､

and would come ､

of the priest

､ כְּבַשֵּׁ֣ל

while was boiling ､

הַבָּשָׂ֔ר

hab·bā·śār,

the meat

וְהַמַּזְלֵ֛ג

wə·ham·maz·lêḡ

and with a fleshhook

שְׁלֹ֥שׁ־

šə·lōš-

[with] three

הַשִּׁנַּ֖יִם

haš·šin·na·yim

– בְּיָדֽוֹ׃

bə·yā·ḏōw.

in his hand –

וְהִכָּ֨ה

and he would thrust [it]

he will take

they should burn

the fat

and [then] you may take

לְךָ֔

כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר

[as much] as

תְּאַוֶּ֖ה

נַפְשֶׁ֑ךָ

וְאָמַ֥ר ׀

then he would answer

and bring [it]

בַּֽעֲלוֹתָהּ֙

when she came up

לִזְבֹּ֖חַ

do you do

؟ כַּדְּבָרִ֣ים

הָאֵ֑לֶּה

hā·’êl·leh;

אֲשֶׁ֨ר

אָנֹכִ֤י

שֹׁמֵ֙עַ֙

You make transgress

If

יֶחֱטָ֨א

אִ֤ישׁ

､ לְאִישׁ֙

against another ､

וּפִֽלְל֣וֹ

ū·p̄il·lōw

and will judge him

אֱלֹהִ֔ים

’ĕ·lō·hîm,

וְאִ֤ם

wə·’im

but if

､ לַֽיהוָה֙

Yah·weh

against Yahweh ､

יֶֽחֱטָא־

ye·ḥĕ·ṭā-

אִ֔ישׁ

’îš,

מִ֖י

יִתְפַּלֶּל־

yiṯ·pal·lel-

ל֑וֹ

lōw;

וְלֹ֤א

wə·lō

and nevertheless not

יִשְׁמְעוּ֙

yiš·mə·‘ū

לְק֣וֹל

lə·qō·wl

､ אֲבִיהֶ֔ם

of their father ､

כִּֽי־

חָפֵ֥ץ

יְהוָ֖ה

. לַהֲמִיתָֽם׃

וְהַנַּ֣עַר

And the child

שְׁמוּאֵ֔ל

and grew in stature ､

וָט֑וֹב

and in favor

؟ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

yiś·rā·’êl.

of Israel ؟

לָ֣מָּה

lām·māh

תִבְעֲט֗וּ

ṯiḇ·‘ă·ṭū,

בְּזִבְחִי֙

bə·ziḇ·ḥî

at My sacrifice

､ וּבְמִנְחָתִ֔י

ū·ḇə·min·ḥā·ṯî,

and My offering ､

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

’ă·šer

צִוִּ֖יתִי

ṣiw·wî·ṯî

I have commanded

– מָע֑וֹן

mā·‘ō·wn;

[in My] dwelling place –

וַתְּכַבֵּ֤ד

wat·tə·ḵab·bêḏ

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

בָּנֶ֙יךָ֙

bā·ne·ḵā

מִמֶּ֔נִּי

mim·men·nî,

לְהַבְרִֽיאֲכֶ֗ם

lə·haḇ·rî·’ă·ḵem,

to make yourselves fat

מֵרֵאשִׁ֛ית

mê·rê·šîṯ

with the best

כָּל־

kāl-

of all

מִנְחַ֥ת

min·ḥaṯ

יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל

yiś·rā·’êl

؟ לְעַמִּֽי׃

lə·‘am·mî.

My people ؟

לָכֵ֗ן

lā·ḵên,

､ נְאֻם־

nə·’um-

says ､

יְהוָה֮

Yah·weh

אֱלֹהֵ֣י

’ĕ·lō·hê

יִשְׂרָאֵל֒

yiś·rā·’êl

אָמ֣וֹר

’ā·mō·wr

אָמַ֔רְתִּי

’ā·mar·tî,

､ בֵּֽיתְךָ֙

bê·ṯə·ḵā

וּבֵ֣ית

ū·ḇêṯ

and the house

､ אָבִ֔יךָ

’ā·ḇî·ḵā,

of your father ､

יִתְהַלְּכ֥וּ

yiṯ·hal·lə·ḵū

לְפָנַ֖י

lə·p̄ā·nay

עַד־

‘aḏ-

– עוֹלָ֑ם

‘ō·w·lām;

ever –

וְעַתָּ֤ה

wə·‘at·tāh

but now

､ נְאֻם־

nə·’um-

says ､

יְהוָה֙

Yah·weh

חָלִ֣ילָה

ḥā·lî·lāh

Far be it

לִּ֔י

lî,

כִּֽי־

kî-

מְכַבְּדַ֥י

mə·ḵab·bə·ḏay

those who honor Me

､ אֲכַבֵּ֖ד

’ă·ḵab·bêḏ

I will honor ､

וּבֹזַ֥י

ū·ḇō·zay

and those who despise Me

. יֵקָֽלּוּ׃

yê·qāl·lū.

shall be lightly esteemed .

､ הִנֵּה֙

hin·nêh

יָמִ֣ים

yā·mîm

the days

､ בָּאִ֔ים

bā·’îm,

וְגָֽדַעְתִּי֙

wə·ḡā·ḏa‘·tî

that I will cut off

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

､ זְרֹ֣עֲךָ֔

zə·rō·‘ă·ḵā,

וְאֶת־

wə·’eṯ-

and

זְרֹ֖עַ

zə·rō·a‘

the arm

､ בֵּ֣ית

bêṯ

of house ､

אָבִ֑יךָ

’ā·ḇî·ḵā;

מִֽהְי֥וֹת

mih·yō·wṯ

so that there will not be

זָקֵ֖ן

zā·qên

. בְּבֵיתֶֽךָ׃

bə·ḇê·ṯe·ḵā.

in your house .

וְהִבַּטְתָּ֙

wə·hib·baṭ·tā

And you will see

צַ֣ר

ṣar

､ מָע֔וֹן

mā·‘ō·wn,

[in My] dwelling place ､

בְּכֹ֥ל

bə·ḵōl

[despite] all the good

אֲשֶׁר־

’ă·šer-

יֵיטִ֖יב

yê·ṭîḇ

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

– יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל

yiś·rā·’êl;

וְלֹֽא־

wə·lō-

and not

יִהְיֶ֥ה

yih·yeh

זָקֵ֛ן

zā·qên

בְּבֵיתְךָ֖

bə·ḇê·ṯə·ḵā

כָּל־

kāl-

. הַיָּמִֽים׃

hay·yā·mîm.

וְאִ֗ישׁ

wə·’îš,

לֹֽא־

lō-

not

אַכְרִ֤ית

’aḵ·rîṯ

[whom] I do cut off

לְךָ֙

lə·ḵā

מֵעִ֣ם

mê·‘im

､ מִזְבְּחִ֔י

miz·bə·ḥî,

My altar ､

לְכַלּ֥וֹת

lə·ḵal·lō·wṯ

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

､ עֵינֶ֖יךָ

‘ê·ne·ḵā

וְלַאֲדִ֣יב

wə·la·’ă·ḏîḇ

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

– נַפְשֶׁ֑ךָ

nap̄·še·ḵā;

וְכָל־

wə·ḵāl

and all

מַרְבִּ֥ית

mar·bîṯ

the descendants

בֵּיתְךָ֖

bê·ṯə·ḵā

יָמ֥וּתוּ

yā·mū·ṯū

. אֲנָשִֽׁים׃

’ă·nā·šîm.

in the flower of their age .

וְזֶה־

wə·zeh-

And this

לְּךָ֣

lə·ḵā

to you

הָא֗וֹת

hā·’ō·wṯ,

[shall be] a sign

אֲשֶׁ֤ר

’ă·šer

יָבֹא֙

yā·ḇō

will come

אֶל־

’el-

שְׁנֵ֣י

šə·nê

､ בָנֶ֔יךָ

ḇā·ne·ḵā,

אֶל־

’el-

on

חָפְנִ֖י

ḥā·p̄ə·nî

– וּפִֽינְחָ֑ס

ū·p̄î·nə·ḥās;

and Phinehas –

בְּי֥וֹם

bə·yō·wm

in day

אֶחָ֖ד

’e·ḥāḏ

יָמ֥וּתוּ

yā·mū·ṯū

. שְׁנֵיהֶֽם׃

šə·nê·hem.

the two of them .

וַהֲקִימֹתִ֥י

wa·hă·qî·mō·ṯî

And I will raise up

לִי֙

lî

､ כֹּהֵ֣ן

kō·hên

a priest ､

נֶאֱמָ֔ן

ne·’ĕ·mān,

כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר

ka·’ă·šer

according to what [is]

בִּלְבָבִ֥י

bil·ḇā·ḇî

in My heart

– וּבְנַפְשִׁ֖י

ū·ḇə·nap̄·šî

and in My mind –

יַעֲשֶׂ֑ה

ya·‘ă·śeh;

וּבָנִ֤יתִי

ū·ḇā·nî·ṯî

and I will build

לוֹ֙

lōw

– בַּ֣יִת

ba·yiṯ

a house –

נֶאֱמָ֔ן

ne·’ĕ·mān,

וְהִתְהַלֵּ֥ךְ‪‬

wə·hṯ·hal·lêḵ

and he shall walk

לִפְנֵֽי־

lip̄·nê-

מְשִׁיחִ֖י

mə·šî·ḥî

כָּל־

kāl-

. הַיָּמִֽים׃

hay·yā·mîm.

､ וְהָיָ֗ה

wə·hā·yāh,

And it shall come to pass that ､

כָּל־

kāl-

הַנּוֹתָר֙

han·nō·w·ṯār

בְּבֵ֣יתְךָ֔

bə·ḇê·ṯə·ḵā,

יָבוֹא֙

yā·ḇō·w

will come

לְהִשְׁתַּחֲוֺ֣ת

lə·hiš·ta·ḥă·wōṯ

[and] bow down

ל֔וֹ

lōw,

to him

לַאֲג֥וֹרַת

la·’ă·ḡō·w·raṯ

כֶּ֖סֶף

ke·sep̄

וְכִכַּר־

wə·ḵik·kar-

and a morsel

､ לָ֑חֶם

lā·ḥem;

of bread ､

､ וְאָמַ֗ר

wə·’ā·mar,

and say ､

סְפָחֵ֥נִי

sə·p̄ā·ḥê·nî

put me

､ נָ֛א

nā

אֶל־

’el-

in

אַחַ֥ת

’a·ḥaṯ

､ הַכְּהֻנּ֖וֹת

hak·kə·hun·nō·wṯ

of the priestly positions ､

לֶאֱכֹ֥ל

le·’ĕ·ḵōl

פַּת־

paṯ-

. לָֽחֶם׃

lā·ḥem.

of bread .
