And he said to them, The Sabbath came into being for sake of man, and not man for sake of the Sabbath.

And they entered into Capernaum, and straightaway on the Sabbath day, having entered into the synagogue, he taught.

And it came to pass, that he was passing through the grain fields on the Sabbath day, and his disciples began to make a path while plucking the ears.

And the Pharisees said to him, Look, why are they doing what is not permitted on the Sabbath day?

So then the Son of man is lord even of the Sabbath.

And they watched him whether he would heal him on the Sabbath day, so that they might accuse him.

And he says to them, Is it permitted to do good on the Sabbath day or to do harm, to save life or to kill? But they were silent.

And having become Sabbath, he began to teach in the synagogue. And many who heard him were astonished, saying, How are these things in this man? and, What is the wisdom that was given to him, and such mighty works happen by his han

And now having become evening, since it was the Preparation, that is, pre-Sabbath,

And when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought spices, so that having come, they might anoint him.
