Renouncing therefore every kind of malice, and knavery, hypocrisy, envy, and detraction, as new-born infants desire that mystical milk,

as newborn babes, long for the spiritual milk which is without guile, that ye may grow thereby unto salvation;

Ye who are servants, be subject to your masters with all fear, not only to the good and mild, but also to the morose:

but in the internal qualities of the mind, in that purity, in that mild and dispassionate temper, which is so acceptable to the divine being.
