Be striving to enter through the narrow door; for, many, I say unto you, will seek to enter, and will not be able, -
Know ye not that, they who, in a racecourse, run, all, indeed, run, - but, one, receiveth the prize? So, be running, that ye may lay hold.
Be envious, however, of the greater gifts; and, yet, a much more excellent way, unto you, I point out: -
Pursue love; nevertheless be envious of the spiritual gifts, - and, rather, that ye may be prophesying.
So, ye, also - since ye are, envious, of spirits, unto the upbuilding of the assembly, seek to be pre-eminent.
Brethren! I, as to myself, reckon that I have, not yet, laid hold; one thing, however, - the things behind, forgetting, and, unto the things before, eagerly reaching out, With the goal in view, I press on for the prize of the upward calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Give diligence, thyself, approved, to present unto God, - a workman not to be put to shame, skillfully handling the word of truth.
