And by the messenger of the congregation in Smyrna, write: These things, says the First and the Last, who was dead, and is alive: I know your works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but you are rich,) and I know the slander of those who say they are Jews, and are not; but are the assembly of Satan. Fear none of the things which you shall suffer; behold, the devil will cast some of you into prison, that you may be tried; and you shall have tribulation ten days: be you faithful until death, and I will give you a crown of life.

For it is better to suffer as well doers, if the will of God appoints it, than as evil doers.
