Thematic Bible
Clothing » Admonitions in regard to » Of the two sexes not to be alike
There shall not be the thing of a man on a woman, neither shall a man put a woman's garment on. For all that do so are abominable to Jehovah your God.
You shall not wear a garment of different kinds, of wool and linen together.
Clothing » Admonitions in regard to » Duty of cleanliness and care in
Let your garments be always white; and let your head lack no ointment.
Clothing » Admonitions in regard to » Of the ancient priests
And it shall be, when they enter in at the gates of the inner court, they shall be clothed with bleached linen clothing. And no wool shall come on them while they serve in the gates of the inner court, and inside.
Clothing » Admonitions in regard to » Modesty in, encouraged
In the same way also, I desire that women adorn themselves in decent clothing, with modesty and sensibleness, not adorned with braiding, or gold, or pearls, or costly clothing,
Clothing » Admonitions in regard to » Undue anxiety concerning, forbidden
And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They do not toil, nor do they spin,
Clothing » Admonitions in regard to » The inward adorning
Of whom let not be the adorning of garments, or outward braiding of hair and wearing of gold, or of putting on clothing,
Fatherless » Admonitions in regard to
You shall not pervert the rightful judgment of the stranger nor of the fatherless; nor take a widow's clothing to pledge.
So says Jehovah, Do judgment and righteousness, and deliver him who is robbed out of the oppressors's hand. And do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, or the widow, nor shed innocent blood in this place.
And the Levite, because he has no part nor inheritance with you, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, who are inside your gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied, so that Jehovah your God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do.
Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit orphans and widows in their afflictions, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

You shall not afflict any widow or fatherless child.
When you have made an end of tithing all the tithes of your increase the third year, the year of tithing, and have given it to the Levite, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow (that they may eat inside your gates and be filled),
Do not remove the old landmarks, and do not enter into the fields of the fatherless;
learn to do good; seek judgment, reprove the oppressor. Judge the orphan, plead for the widow.
