Thematic Bible: Corinth

Thematic Bible

I am delighted over the presence of Stephanas, Fortunatus, and Achaicus, because these men have made up for your absence. For they have refreshed my spirit and yours. Therefore recognize such people.

For it has been reported to me about you, my brothers, by members of Chloe’s household, that there is rivalry among you.

This is the third time I am coming to you. Every fact must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.

I will come to you after I pass through Macedonia-for I will be traveling through Macedonia- and perhaps I will remain with you, or even spend the winter, that you may send me on my way wherever I go. I don't want to see you now just in passing, for I hope to spend some time with you, if the Lord allows.

Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by God’s will, and Timothy our brother:

To God’s church at Corinth, with all the saints who are throughout Achaia.

This greeting is in my own hand-Paul. If anyone does not love the Lord, a curse be on him. Maranatha! The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you. read more.
My love be with all of you in Christ Jesus.

Now we are writing nothing to you other than what you can read and also understand. I hope you will understand completely—

Thanks be to God who put the same diligence for you into the heart of Titus. For he accepted our urging and, being very diligent, went out to you by his own choice.

I urged Titus to come, and I sent the brother with him. Did Titus take advantage of you? Didn’t we walk in the same spirit and in the same footsteps?

Gaius, who is host to me and to the whole church, greets you. Erastus, the city treasurer, and our brother Quartus greet you.

Erastus has remained at Corinth; I left Trophimus sick at Miletus.

Now if Christ is proclaimed as raised from the dead, how can some of you say, “There is no resurrection of the dead”?

Don’t you have houses to eat and drink in? Or do you look down on the church of God and embarrass those who have nothing? What should I say to you? Should I praise you? I do not praise you for this!

What I am saying is this: Each of you says, “I’m with Paul,” or “I’m with Apollos,” or “I’m with Cephas,” or “I’m with Christ.”

For whenever someone says, “I’m with Paul,” and another, “I’m with Apollos,” are you not unspiritual people?

and to go on to Macedonia with your help, then come to you again from Macedonia and be given a start by you on my journey to Judea.

While Apollos was in Corinth, Paul traveled through the interior regions and came to Ephesus. He found some disciples

Crispus, the leader of the synagogue, believed the Lord, along with his whole household. Many of the Corinthians, when they heard, believed and were baptized.

I thank God that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius,

I am pleased to have Stephanas, Fortunatus, and Achaicus present, because these men have made up for your absence.

So he left there and went to the house of a man named Titius Justus, a worshiper of God, whose house was next door to the synagogue.

After this, he left from Athens and went to Corinth, where he found a Jewish man named Aquila, a native of Pontus, who had recently come from Italy with his wife Priscilla because Claudius 41-54; he expelled all Jews from Rome in a.d. 49. had ordered all the Jews to leave Rome. Paul came to them, and being of the same occupation, stayed with them and worked, for they were tentmakers by trade.

Gaius, who is host to me and to the whole church, greets you. Erastus, the city treasurer, and our brother Quartus greet you.

Brothers, you know the household of Stephanas: They are the firstfruits of Achaia and have devoted themselves to serving the saints. I urge you

I did, in fact, baptize the household of Stephanas; beyond that, I don’t know if I baptized anyone else.

I am pleased to have Stephanas, Fortunatus, and Achaicus present, because these men have made up for your absence.
