Thematic Bible: Dearth
Thematic Bible
Dearth » Spiritual
The poor and the needy [are] seeking water and [there is] none; their tongue is dried up with thirst. I, Yahweh, will answer them; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.
Therefore my people will go into exile without knowledge, [and] their nobles [will be] men of hunger, and their multitude [is] parched [with] thirst.
God settles the lonely in a home; he brings prisoners out into prosperity. But the rebellious abide in a barren land.
O God, you [are] my God; I will seek you diligently. My soul thirsts for you; my flesh longs for you [as] in a dry and weary land without water.
For you shall be like an oak withering its leaves, and like a garden where there is no water for her.
And he will be like a juniper in the wilderness, and he will not see when good comes, and he will dwell [in the] parched places in the desert, [in] a land of salt flats, where no one lives.
In that day the beautiful young women and the young men will faint because of thirst.
