Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practice it, because it is in the power of their hand.

He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil.

He that deviseth to do evil shall be called a mischievous person.

And they said, There is no hope: but we will walk after our own devices, and we will every one do the imagination of his evil heart.



Do they not err that devise evil? but mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good.

He shutteth his eyes to devise froward things: moving his lips he bringeth evil to pass.

The instruments also of the churl are evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right.

Then said he to me, Son of man, these are the men that devise mischief, and give wicked counsel in this city:




Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also are transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.


For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first beginneth at us, what will be the end of them that obey not the gospel of God?

But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off.

What fruit had ye then in those things of which ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.

But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh to cursing; whose end is to be burned.

Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then I understood their end.


Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves:

And be not ye like your fathers, and like your brethren, who trespassed against the LORD God of their fathers, who therefore gave them up to desolation, as ye see.

Behold, your house is left to you desolate.


And she said, the Philistines are upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he knew not that the LORD had departed from him.

And when Saul inquired of the LORD, the LORD answered him not, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets.

So I gave them up to their own hearts lust: and they walked in their own counsels.


Then God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, O ye house of Israel, have ye offered to me slain beasts and sacrifices during forty years in the wilderness?




Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.

His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be held with the cords of his sins.

For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture, and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs of it all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them.

But thou, O God, wilt bring them down into the pit of destruction: bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; but I will trust in thee.

The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.

When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever:


For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yes, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.



Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? no, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.

They that swear by the sin of Samaria, and say, Thy god, O Dan, liveth; and, The manner of Beer-sheba liveth; even they shall fall, and never rise again.

The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.

He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoever breaketh a hedge, a serpent shall bite him.

I will not punish your daughters when they are guilty of lewdness, nor your spouses when they commit adultery: for they themselves are separated with prostitutes, and they sacrifice with harlots: therefore the people that doth not understand shall fall.

Moreover, thou shalt say to them, Thus saith the LORD; Shall they fall, and not arise? shall he turn away, and not return?


And so I saw the wicked buried, who had come and gone from the place of the holy, and they were forgotten in the city where they had so done: this is also vanity.

His remembrance shall perish from the earth, and he shall have no name in the street.


I said, I would scatter them into corners, I would make the remembrance of them to cease from among men;

Let them be before the LORD continually, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth.

For he cometh with vanity, and departeth in darkness, and his name shall be covered with darkness.



A good man obtaineth favor from the LORD: but a man of wicked devices he will condemn.

The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to naught: he maketh the devices of the people of no effect.

But when Esther came before the king, he commanded by letters that his wicked device, which he devised against the Jews, should return upon his own head, and that he and his sons should be hanged on the gallows.

He disappointeth the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise.



For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.
