Then the disciples of John approached him, saying, "Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but your disciples do not fast?"

Now [when] John heard in prison the deeds of Christ, he sent [word] by his disciples

And his disciples came [and] took away the corpse and buried it, and went [and] told Jesus.

And John's disciples and the Pharisees were fasting, and they came and said to him, "{Why} do the disciples of John and the disciples of the Pharisees fast, but your disciples do not fast?"

And they said to him, "The disciples of John fast often and make prayers--likewise also the [disciples] of the Pharisees--but yours are eating and drinking!"

And his disciples reported to John about all these [things]. And summoning a certain two of his disciples, John

So a dispute occurred on the part of John's disciples with a Jew concerning purification.


And taking hold of him by the right hand, he raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles were made strong.

And the people of the towns around Jerusalem also came together, bringing the sick and those tormented by unclean spirits, who were all being healed.

And Peter said to him, "Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you! Get up and make your bed yourself!" And immediately he got up.

said with a loud voice, "Stand upright on your feet!" And he leaped up and began walking.

And she was doing this for many days. But Paul, becoming greatly annoyed and turning around, said to the spirit, "I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her!" And it came out {immediately}.

so that even handkerchiefs or work aprons {that had touched his skin} were carried away to those who were sick, and [their] diseases left them and the evil spirits came out [of them].

And it happened that the father of Publius was lying down, afflicted with fever and dysentery. Paul went to {him} and [after] praying, he placed [his] hands on him [and] healed him.




And immediately he called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men [and] went away after him.

And when day came, he summoned his disciples and chose from them twelve, whom he also named apostles:

On the next day he wanted to depart for Galilee, and he found Philip. And Jesus said to him, "Follow me!"



And when they had entered, they went up to the upstairs room where they were staying--Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James [son] of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot and Judas [son] of James.

Now these are the names of the twelve apostles: first Simon who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother, James the [son] of Zebedee, and John his brother,

Simon (whom he also named Peter) and his brother Andrew, and James, and John, and Philip, and Bartholomew,

And he appointed the twelve. And to Simon he gave the name Peter,

And Jesus answered [and] said, "O unbelieving and perverse generation! {How long} will I be with you? {How long} must I put up with you? Bring him here to me!"


And he said to them, "Why are you fearful? Do you not yet have faith?"


And he was in the stern sleeping on the cushion, and they woke him up and said to him, "Teacher, is it not a concern to you that we are perishing?"

And these words appeared to them as nonsense, and they refused to believe them.

And [while] they were still disbelieving because of joy and were marveling, he said to them, "Do you have anything {to eat} here?" So they gave him a piece of broiled fish, and he took [it] [and] ate [it] in front of them. read more.
And he said to them, "These [are] my words that I spoke to you [while I] was still with you, that everything that is written about me in the law of Moses and the prophets and psalms must be fulfilled." Then he opened their minds to understand the scriptures,
