Now when John heard in prison about the deeds Christ had done, he sent his disciples to ask a question:

Then John's disciples came and took the body and buried it and went and told Jesus.

Now John's disciples and the Pharisees were fasting. So they came to Jesus and said, "Why do the disciples of John and the disciples of the Pharisees fast, but your disciples don't fast?"

Then they said to him, "John's disciples frequently fast and pray, and so do the disciples of the Pharisees, but yours continue to eat and drink."

John's disciples informed him about all these things. So John called two of his disciples

Now a dispute came about between some of John's disciples and a certain Jew concerning ceremonial washing.


Then Peter took hold of him by the right hand and raised him up, and at once the man's feet and ankles were made strong.

A crowd of people from the towns around Jerusalem also came together, bringing the sick and those troubled by unclean spirits. They were all being healed.

Peter said to him, "Aeneas, Jesus the Christ heals you. Get up and make your own bed!" And immediately he got up.

he said with a loud voice, "Stand upright on your feet." And the man leaped up and began walking.

She continued to do this for many days. But Paul became greatly annoyed, and turned and said to the spirit, "I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her!" And it came out of her at once.

so that when even handkerchiefs or aprons that had touched his body were brought to the sick, their diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them.

The father of Publius lay sick in bed, suffering from fever and dysentery. Paul went in to see him and after praying, placed his hands on him and healed him.




Immediately he called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed him.

When morning came, he called his disciples and chose twelve of them, whom he also named apostles:

On the next day Jesus wanted to set out for Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, "Follow me."



When they had entered Jerusalem, they went to the upstairs room where they were staying. Peter and John, and James, and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot, and Judas son of James were there.

Now these are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon (called Peter), and Andrew his brother; James son of Zebedee and John his brother;

Simon (whom he named Peter), and his brother Andrew; and James, John, Philip, Bartholomew,

He appointed twelve: To Simon he gave the name Peter;

Jesus answered, "You unbelieving and perverse generation! How much longer must I be with you? How much longer must I endure you? Bring him here to me."


And he said to them, "Why are you cowardly? Do you still not have faith?"



But these words seemed like pure nonsense to them, and they did not believe them.

And while they still could not believe it (because of their joy) and were amazed, he said to them, "Do you have anything here to eat?" So they gave him a piece of broiled fish, and he took it and ate it in front of them. read more.
Then he said to them, "These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the law of Moses and the prophets and the psalms must be fulfilled." Then he opened their minds so they could understand the scriptures,
