But Israel stretched out his right hand and laid it on the head of Ephraim, who was the younger, and his left hand on Manasseh’s head, crossing his hands, although Manasseh was the firstborn.

He shall lay his hand on the head of the male goat and slay it in the place where they slay the burnt offering before the Lord; it is a sin offering.

You shall also take the one ram, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the ram;

We have submitted to Egypt and Assyria to get enough bread.

A man lacking in sense pledges
And becomes guarantor in the presence of his neighbor.

My son, if you have become surety for your neighbor,
Have given a pledge for a stranger,

Now he despised the oath by breaking the covenant, and behold, he pledged his allegiance, yet did all these things; he shall not escape.’”

They pledged to put away their wives, and being guilty, they offered a ram of the flock for their offense.


And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking with tongues and prophesying.

They *brought to Him one who was deaf and spoke with difficulty, and they *implored Him to lay His hand on him.

they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

And He could do no miracle there except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them.

While the sun was setting, all those who had any who were sick with various diseases brought them to Him; and laying His hands on each one of them, He was healing them.

God was performing extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul,


The Lord has sworn by His right hand and by His strong arm,
“I will never again give your grain as food for your enemies;
Nor will foreigners drink your new wine for which you have labored.”

Abram said to the king of Sodom, “I have sworn to the Lord God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth,

Therefore He swore to them
That He would cast them down in the wilderness,


If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it from you; it is better for you to enter life crippled or lame, than to have two hands or two feet and be cast into the eternal fire.

If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off; it is better for you to enter life crippled, than, having your two hands, to go into hell, into the unquenchable fire,

If your right hand makes you stumble, cut it off and throw it from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to go into hell.


So the LORD said to Moses, "Take Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the Spirit, and lay your hand on him; and have him stand before Eleazar the priest and before all the congregation, and commission him in their sight. Moses did just as the LORD commanded him; and he took Joshua and set him before Eleazar the priest and before all the congregation. Then he laid his hands on him and commissioned him, just as the LORD had spoken through Moses.

Now Joshua the son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands on him; and the sons of Israel listened to him and did as the Lord had commanded Moses.


Now when he had departed from there, he met Jehonadab the son of Rechab coming to meet him; and he greeted him and said to him, “Is your heart right, as my heart is with your heart?” And Jehonadab answered, “It is.” Jehu said, “If it is, give me your hand.” And he gave him his hand, and he took him up to him into the chariot.

“Lay down, now, a pledge for me with Yourself;
Who is there that will be my guarantor?


Then some children were brought to Him so that He might lay His hands on them and pray; and the disciples rebuked them.



All the elders of that city which is nearest to the slain man shall wash their hands over the heifer whose neck was broken in the valley;

When Pilate saw that he was accomplishing nothing, but rather that a riot was starting, he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd, saying, “I am innocent of this Man’s blood; see to that yourselves.”


Then Aaron lifted up his hands toward the people and blessed them, and he stepped down after making the sin offering and the burnt offering and the peace offerings.

And He led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them.


“Why do Your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.”

and had seen that some of His disciples were eating their bread with impure hands, that is, unwashed. (For the Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they carefully wash their hands, thus observing the traditions of the elders; and when they come from the market place, they do not eat unless they cleanse themselves; and there are many other things which they have received in order to observe, such as the washing of cups and pitchers and copper pots.) read more.
The Pharisees and the scribes asked Him, "Why do Your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat their bread with impure hands?"





He has stretched His hand out over the sea,
He has made the kingdoms tremble;
The Lord has given a command concerning Canaan to demolish its strongholds.



Kings’ daughters are among Your noble ladies;
At Your right hand stands the queen in gold from Ophir.

Let Your hand be upon the man of Your right hand,
Upon the son of man whom You made strong for Yourself.


and present the Levites before the LORD; and the sons of Israel shall lay their hands on the Levites. "Aaron then shall present the Levites before the LORD as a wave offering from the sons of Israel, that they may qualify to perform the service of the LORD.


Then the hand of the Lord was on Elijah, and he girded up his loins and outran Ahab to Jezreel.


So the Philistines were subdued and they did not come anymore within the border of Israel. And the hand of the Lord was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.




Behold, the Lord’s hand is not so short
That it cannot save;
Nor is His ear so dull

that all the peoples of the earth may know that the hand of the Lord is mighty, so that you may fear the Lord your God forever.”


The Lord said to Moses, “Is the Lord’s power limited? Now you shall see whether My word will come true for you or not.”


“Nevertheless the righteous will hold to his way,
And he who has clean hands will grow stronger and stronger.


“Bring the one who has cursed outside the camp, and let all who heard him lay their hands on his head; then let all the congregation stone him.


Now the hand of the Lord was heavy on the Ashdodites, and He ravaged them and smote them with tumors, both Ashdod and its territories.
