Yahweh, is slow to anger, but great in vigour, He will not leave, unpunished, as for Yahweh, in storm-wind and in tempest, is his way, and, clouds, are the dust of his feet.


For the sake of mine own Name, will I defer mine anger, And for my praise, will I restrain myself towards thee, - So as not to cut thee off.

So he prayed unto Yahweh, and said - Ah now! Yahweh! Was not, this, my word, while I was yet upon mine own soil? For this cause, did I hasten to flee unto Tarshish, - because I knew that, thou, art a GOD of favour and compassion, slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness, and art grieved over calamity.

Because sentence against a wicked work is not executed speedily - on this account, the heart of the sons of men is fully set within them, to commit wickedness.

And he said unto the vine-dresser - Lo! three years, I come, seeking fruit in this fig-tree, and find none. Cut it down! Why doth it make, even the round useless? And, he, answering, saith unto him - Sir! let it alone this year also, until such time as I dig about it, and throw in manure, -

and if it may bear fruit for the future; -- but, otherwise, certainly, thou shalt cut it down.
