The curse of Jehovah is in the house of the wicked; but he blesseth the habitation of the righteous. He indeed scorneth the scorners; but he giveth grace unto the lowly.

For I am the least of the apostles, who am not fit to be called apostle, because I have persecuted the assembly of God. But by God's grace I am what I am; and his grace, which was towards me, has not been vain; but I have laboured more abundantly than they all, but not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

Whoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of the heavens;

Likewise ye younger, be subject to the elder, and all of you bind on humility towards one another; for God sets himself against the proud, but to the humble gives grace. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in the due time;







For behold, the day cometh, burning as a furnace; and all the proud and all that work wickedness shall be stubble; and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith Jehovah of hosts, so that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, with the contempt of the proud.

he is puffed up, knowing nothing, but sick about questions and disputes of words, out of which arise envy, strife, injurious words, evil suspicions,


The proud have digged pits for me, which is not according to thy law.

Let the proud be ashamed; for they have acted perversely towards me with falsehood: as for me, I meditate in thy precepts.
