The LORD is slow to anger and great in power and will not at all treat the guilty as though they were innocent; the LORD whose way is in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. He will not always chide, neither will he keep his anger for ever.


Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn unto me with all your heart and with fasting and with weeping, and with mourning: and rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and great in mercy, and he does repent of chastisement.













Blessed are those that hunger now, for ye shall be filled. Blessed are those that weep now, for ye shall laugh.

But they and our fathers dealt proudly and hardened their necks and did not hearken unto thy commandments and refused to hear; neither did they remember thy wonders that thou hadst done among them, but hardened their necks and in their rebellion thought to appoint a leader to return to their bondage; but thou art a God of pardons, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great mercy, for thou didst not leave them.

How must I leave thee, Ephraim? how shall I give thee up, Israel? how could I make thee as Admah? nor set thee as Zeboim? my heart churns within me; all my compassion is inflamed.

And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast and the animals and the fowls of the air; for I repent of having made them.



and remember his covenant with them and repent according to the multitude of his mercies.

Then the LORD repented of the evil which he said should be done unto his people.

Who can tell if God will turn and repent and turn away from his fierce anger, that we not perish?
