19 Bible Verses about Turning The Other Cheek

but I say unto you, That ye resist not with evil, but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

And unto the one that smites thee on the one cheek offer also the other, and to the one that takes away thy cloak defend not thy coat also.

See that no one renders evil for evil unto anyone, but always follow that which is good, both among yourselves and to all men.

And finally, be ye all of one consent, of one affection, loving each other fraternally, merciful, courteous, not rendering evil for evil or curse for curse, but to the contrary, blessing, knowing that ye are called, that ye should possess a blessing by inheritance. For he that desires to love life and see the good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil and his lips that they speak no guile;

Not repaying anyone evil for evil; procuring that which is good not only in the sight of God, but even in the sight of all men.

Not defending yourselves, dearly beloved; but rather give place unto the wrath of God, for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

But rather love ye your enemies and do good and lend, hoping for nothing again, and your reward shall be great; and ye shall be the sons of the Most High, for he is kind even unto the unthankful and to the evil.

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless those that curse you, do good to those that hate you, and pray for those who speak evil about you, and persecute you;

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the sons of God.

bless those that curse you, and pray for those who despitefully use you.

Bless those who persecute you: bless, and do not curse.

and labour, working with our own hands; being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it;

Therefore, if thine enemy hungers, feed him; if he thirsts, give him drink; for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

If thy enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat, and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink,

And when he had thus spoken, one of the servants who stood by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, Answerest thou the high priest so? Jesus answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil, but if well, why dost thou smite me?

Then they spit in his face and buffeted him, and others smote him with the staves,

and said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands.

Then Zedekiah, the son of Chenaanah, came near and smote Micaiah upon the cheek and said, Which way did the Spirit of the LORD depart from me to speak unto thee? And Micaiah said, Behold, thou shalt see on that day when thou shalt go from chamber to chamber to hide thyself.

And David said to Abishai, Do not destroy him, for who has stretched forth his hand against the LORD's anointed, and remained innocent? David said furthermore, As the LORD lives, if the LORD does not smite him or his day comes to die or he descends into battle and perishes, the LORD forbid that I should stretch forth my hand against the LORD's anointed; but, I pray thee, take thou now the spear that is at his head and the cruse of water and let us go.
