He has declared unto thee, O man, what is good and what the LORD requires of thee: only to do right judgment, and to love mercy, and to humble thyself to walk with thy God.
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin and have omitted that which is more important of the law: judgment, mercy, and faith; these were expedient for ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs and pass over the judgment and the charity of God; these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
The strong One, whose work is perfect: for all his ways are right; a God of truth and without iniquity, just and upright is he.
But with righteousness shall he judge the poor and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth; and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the spirit of his lips he shall slay the wicked. And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faith the girdle of his kidneys.
Let marriage be honourable in all and the bed undefiled; but the fornicators and adulterers God will judge.
Ye have heard that it was said to the ancients, Thou shalt not commit adultery; but I say unto you, That whosoever looks on a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.
Thou shalt not commit adultery.
Nevertheless, let each one of you do likewise, let each one so love his wife even as himself, and let the wife see that she reverences her husband.
But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let those learn first to govern their house in piety and to recompense their parents, for this is honest and pleasing before God.

As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, so is a faithful messenger to those that send him, for he refreshes the soul of his master.
For we are not as many, false merchandisers of the word of God, but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ.
but remove from ourselves every hidden shameful thing, not walking in craftiness, nor adulterating the word of God, but in the manifestation of the truth, commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that has nothing to be ashamed of, rightly dividing the word of truth.
I commend unto you Phebe our sister, who is a servant of the congregation which is at Cenchrea, that ye receive her in the Lord as a worthy saint, and that ye assist her in whatever thing in which she has need of you, for she has been a helper of many and of myself also.
Therefore as long as we have the opportunity, let us do good unto everyone, especially unto those who are of the household of faith.
Let each one according to the gift that he has received, administer it unto the others, as a good steward of the diverse graces of God.
For God is my witness, whom I serve in my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I always remember you in my prayers, making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you.

Persevere in prayer and watch in the same with thanksgiving, praying also together for us that God would open unto us the door of the word, to speak the mystery of the Christ, for which I am also in bonds, that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.
Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith and in word and in knowledge and in all diligence and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also. I speak not as commanding, but by occasion of the diligence of others and to prove the sincerity of your charity. He that is faithful with little is faithful also with much, and he that is unjust with little is unjust also with much.

Most men will proclaim each one his own mercy, but who can find a man of truth?
Help, LORD; for the merciful man ceases, for the faithful fail from among the children of men. Each one speaks vanity with his neighbour: they speak with flattering lips and with a double heart.
The righteous perishes, and no man lays it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.
The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked; who shall know it?
