John answered, and said - A man can receive, nothing, except it have been given him out of heaven. Ye yourselves, unto me, bear witness, that, I, said - I, am not the Christ; but - I am sent before, That One.
Ye, have sent forth unto John, - and he hath borne witness to the truth: - I, however, not from man, my witness, receive; but, these things, I say, that, ye, may be saved: - He, was the burning and shining lamp, and, ye, were willing to exult, for an hour, in his light.

But there entered a reasoning among them, as to who of them should be greatest.
