For as the Father hath life in Himself, so hath He given also to the Son to have life in Himself. And hath given Him authority also to execute judgement, because He is the Son of man. Wonder not at this; for the time is coming, in which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, and shall come forth, they that have done good to the resurrection of life, and they that have done evil to the resurrection of damnation. I can do nothing of my self: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not my own will, but the will of the Father that hath sent me. If I alone bear witness of my self, my testimony is not true in law: but there is another who testifieth concerning me; and I know that the testimony, which he giveth concerning me, is true. Ye your selves sent unto John, and he bore witness to the truth: though I need not testimony from man; but I say these things that ye may be saved. He was indeed a burning and shining light, and for a while ye willingly rejoiced in his light. But I have a testimony greater than John's: for the works which the Father hath given me to perform, the very works which I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me. And the Father who sent me, hath Himself borne witness of me: and yet ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his form. And ye have not his word abiding in you; because ye believe not Him, whom He hath sent. Ye search the scriptures; for ye think that in them ye have eternal life: and they testify of me: and yet ye will not come to me, that ye may have life. Though I desire not applause from men: but I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you. I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another should come in his own name, him ye will receive. How can ye believe, who receive applause from each other, and the glory which is from God only, ye seek not? Think not that I shall accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust. For if ye believed Moses, ye would believe me; for he wrote concerning me: but if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?

The word of God » Jesus Christ being the word of God
That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have contemplated, and our very hands have felt concerning the Word of life, (for this Life was manifested, and we saw it; and we testify and declare unto you that eternal Life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us) what we have seen and heard we declare unto you, that ye also may have communion with us: and our communion is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.

In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness, and the darkness attained it not. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John: this man came for witness, that he might testify concerning the light, that through him all might believe. He was not that light, but was sent to bear witness of the light. The true light was that which enlightneth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and yet the world knew Him not: yea, He came to his own peculiar right, and even his own people received Him not. But as many as received Him, to them granted He the privilege to become the children of God, even to them that believe on his name; who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, being full of grace and truth: and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only-begotten of the Father. Of Him did John bare witness, and publicly declared, saying, This was He of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me; for He was before me. And of his fulness have we all received, even grace for grace. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ: and though no one hath ever seen God, or can see Him: yet the only-begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, hath made Him known.

And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse, and He that sat upon it is called faithful and true, and in righteousness doth He judge and make war. His eyes are as a flame of fire, and many crowns on his head: and He hath a name written, which none knoweth but Himself. And He was clothed with a vesture dipt in blood: and his name is called, "The Word of God." read more.
And the armies in heaven followed Him on white horses, clothed in fine linen white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that He may smite the nations therewith: and He shall rule them with a rod of iron: and He treadeth the wine-press of the indignation and wrath of God almighty.

Ye know the report that was spread through all Judea, having begun from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached: concerning Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the holy Spirit and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed by the devil: for God was with Him. And we are witnesses of all things that He did, both in the country of Judea, and in the city of Jerusalem: whom notwithstanding they put to death, hanging Him on a tree. read more.
Him God raised up the third day, and gave Him to be seen openly; not to all the people, but to witnesses before appointed by God, even to us, who did eat and drink with Him, after He rose from the dead. To Him do all the prophets bear witness, that whosoever believeth on Him shall receive the forgiveness of their sins through his name.

Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us, in the righteousness of our God, and of our saviour Jesus Christ: grace and peace be multiplied unto you, in the acknowledgement of God, and of Jesus our Lord; as his divine power hath given us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who hath called us by that glory and virtue, read more.

And to this giving all diligence, add to your faith fortitude; and to fortitude knowledge; and to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience piety; and to piety brotherly affection; and to brotherly affection charity. For if these be in you and abound, they will not suffer you to be idle, nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he, that hath not these, is blind, or short-sighted, having forgot his baptismal purification from his former sins. Wherefore, my brethren, be the more diligent thus to make your calling and election sure; for if ye do these things ye shall never fall. For so an entrance shall be administered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Wherefore I will not neglect to put you always in mind of these things, though ye know them, and are established in the present truth. And I think it my duty, while I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by way of remembrance: knowing that I must soon lay down this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me. And I will endeavour that after my departure also ye may always be able to call these things to remembrance. For we did not follow artfully devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ; but were eye-witnesses of his majesty.

for as I was passing along, and looking at what ye worshipped, I found an altar on which there was inscribed, "To the unknown God." Whom therefore ye worship unknown, Him do I declare unto you. The God that made the world and all things therein, being lord of heaven and earth dwelleth not in temples made with hands: nor is He served by the hands of men, as needing any thing: for He giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;
