Now he that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is still in darkness: whereas, he that loveth his brother, abideth in the light, and is in no danger of stumbling.

since we know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren: he, that loveth not his brother, remaineth in death. Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. In this we know his love, that He laid down his life for us: and we should be ready to lay down our lives for the brethren. read more.
But if any one, who hath the good things of the world, seeth his brother in want, and shutteth up his bowels from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, or in tongue only, but in deed and in truth.

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is from God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He, that loveth not, knoweth not God: for God is love. In this was the love of God manifested towards us, that God sent his only-begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. read more.
Herein is love; not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent his Son to be a propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

And upon this occasion Jesus opened his mouth and said, "I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and knowing, and hast revealed them to babes: even so, Father, for it was thy good pleasure that so it should be." All things are delivered to me by my Father: and no one knoweth the Son, but the Father; nor does any one know the Father, but the Son, and he to whom the Son is pleased to reveal Him.

All things are delivered to me by my Father: and none knoweth who the Son is, but the Father: and who the Father is, but the Son; and he to whom the Son pleaseth to reveal Him.

I am the good shepherd, and I know my own sheep, and am known by them. Even as the Father knoweth me, and I know the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. And I have other sheep, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they will hear my voice; so there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

My little children, I write these things unto you, that ye may not sin. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. And by this we know that we have known Him, if we keep his commandments.

Herein is love; not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent his Son to be a propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No one hath ever seen God: but if we love one another, God dwelleth in us and his love is perfected in us. By this we know that we are in Him, and He in us; because He hath given us of his Spirit. And we have seen, and do testify, that the Father hath sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love which God hath towards us: for God is love; and he, that dwelleth in love, dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is love perfected with us, that we may have boldness in the day of judgement; for as He is, we also are in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear; because fear hath torment; but he that feareth is not perfected in love. We love Him, because He first loved us. If any one say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for how can he, that loveth not his brother, whom he hath seen, love God whom he hath not seen? And we have this commandment from Him, that he, who loveth God, should love his brother also.

Let that therefore, which ye have heard from the beginning, abide in you: for if that, which ye heard from the beginning, remain in you, ye also will remain in the Son and in the Father. And this is the promise which He hath promised us, even eternal life. These things have I written unto you concerning those who would seduce you. read more.
But the unction, which ye have received from Him, abideth in you; and therefore ye have no need that any should teach you: since this very unction teacheth you concerning all things, and is truth and not falshood; even as that hath taught you, abide in Him. And now, little children, abide, I say, in Him; that, when He shall appear, we may have confidence, and may not be ashamed before Him at his coming. If ye know that He is righteous, ye know that every one, who practiseth righteousness, is born of Him.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. By Him were all things made, and without Him was not any one thing made that was made. read more.
In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness, and the darkness attained it not. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John: this man came for witness, that he might testify concerning the light, that through him all might believe. He was not that light, but was sent to bear witness of the light. The true light was that which enlightneth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and yet the world knew Him not: yea, He came to his own peculiar right, and even his own people received Him not. But as many as received Him, to them granted He the privilege to become the children of God, even to them that believe on his name; who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

But they would not entertain Him, because his face was towards Jerusalem. And when his disciples James and John saw it, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, as Elias did?
