Two days later a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee; the mother of Jesus was present, and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. As the wine ran short, the mother of Jesus said to him, "They have no wine." read more.
"Woman," said Jesus, "what have you to do with me? My time has not come yet." His mother said to the servants, "Do whatever he tells you." Now six stone water-jars were standing there, for the Jewish rites of 'purification,' each holding about twenty gallons. Jesus said, "Fill up the jars with water." So they filled them to the brim. Then he said, "Now draw some out, and take it to the manager of the feast." They did so; and when the manager of the feast tasted the water which had become wine, not knowing where it had come from (though the servants who had drawn it knew), he called the bridegroom and said to him, "Everybody serves the good wine first, and then the poorer wine after people have drunk freely; you have kept the good wine till now." Jesus performed this, the first of his Signs, at Cana in Galilee, thereby displaying his glory; and his disciples believed in him.
