Pilate says to them, Then what shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ? They all say to him, Let Him be crucified. And the governor said, For what evil hath He done? And they continued to cry out more vociferously, saying, Let Him be crucified. And Pilate seeing that he profits nothing, but rather an uproar supervenes, having taken water, washed his hands in the presence of the multitude, saying, For I am free from the blood of this just one: you shall see to it. And all the people responding said, His blood be upon us, and upon our children. Then he released unto them Barabbas.And having scourged Jesus, delivered Him up that He should be crucified.

And having read, and made inquiry of what jurisdiction, and ascertaining that he is from Cilicia, said, I will hear thee, when thy accusers may also be present, having commanded that he should be kept in Herod's judgment hall.
