Judges 2:16-19

But whenever the judge died, they turned back and behaved worse than their fathers, going after other gods, serving them and bowing down to them; they did not drop any of their practices or their stubborn ways.

Judges 3:9-11

And they judged the people at all times: the hard matters they brought to Moses, but every small matter they judged.

Exodus 22:7-9

If a man deliver unto his neighbour money or stuff to keep, and it be stolen out of the man's house; if the thief be found, let him restore double; if the thief be not found, the master of the house shall be brought before the judges, to see if he has not put his hand unto his neighbour's goods.
