And again he sent to them another servant; and him they wounded in the head, and treated shamefully. And he sent another; and him they killed; and many others, beating some, and killing some. Still he had one beloved son; he sent him last to them, saying, They will respect my son. But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours. And they took him and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard. What will the lord of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard to others.

And when they had received it, they murmured against the householder, saying, These last have worked but one hour, and thou hast made them equal to us, who have borne the burden and heat of the day.

And when the season of the fruits drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive his fruits. And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.
