Put on, therefore, as God's elect, holy and beloved, tender affections of compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, long-suffering; (bearing with one another, and freely forgiving one another, if any one have a complaint against any; even as the Lord freely forgave you, so also do ye):

Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins, rebuke him; and, if he repents, forgive him. And, if he sins against you seven times in the day, and seven times turns to you, saying, 'I repent,' you shall forgive him."

Then Peter, coming near, said to Him, "Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?" Jesus saith to him, "I say not to you, 'till seven times,' but till seventy times seven.

Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins, rebuke him; and, if he repents, forgive him. And, if he sins against you seven times in the day, and seven times turns to you, saying, 'I repent,' you shall forgive him."



And He said to His disciples, "It is impossible but that occasions of stumbling should come; but woe to him through whom they come! It were profitable for him, if a millstone were placed about his neck, and he thrown into the sea, rather than that he should cause one of these little ones to stumble. Take heed to yourselves. And the Lord said, "If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye would say to this sycamine tree, 'Be rooted up, and be planted in the sea,' and it would obey you. But who is there of you, having a servant plowing, or tending sheep, that will say to him, having come in from the field, 'Coming straightway, recline at table;' and will not rather say to him, 'Make ready wherewith I may sup; and, having girded yourself, serve me, until I eat and drink; and afterward you shall eat and drink?' Does he thank the servant, because he did the things that were commanded? So also ye, when ye do all the things that were commanded you, say, 'We are unprofitable servants; we have done what it was our duty to do.'
