Why do your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders, for they wash not their hands when they eat bread? And he answered and said to them, Why do you transgress the command of God by your tradition? For God said, Honor your father and mother; and he that reviles father or mother, let him surely die. read more.
But you say, Whoever says to his father or mother what you might be profited with by me is a gift, then he shall not honor his father or his mother; and you have made the law of God of no effect by your tradition.

For the Pharisees and all the Jews eat not unless they wash their hands with the fist, holding the tradition of the elders. And the scribes and Pharisees watched him [to see] if he would perform a cure on the sabbath, that they might find [something of which] to accuse him. But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man having the withered hand, Arise, and stand in the midst. And he arose and stood. And Jesus said to them, I will ask you whether it is lawful on the sabbath to do good or to do evil? to save a life or to destroy? And looking round upon them all he said to him, Stretch out your hand. And he did so; and his hand was restored. And they were filled with madness, and conferred with each other as to what they should do to Jesus.
