When the Pharisees and Sadducees arrived, in order to test Jesus they asked him to show them a sign from heaven.
Some Pharisees came to him in order to test him. They asked, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason?"

Still others are celibate because they have made themselves that way for the sake of the kingdom from heaven. Let anyone accept this who can."

Ministers must be husbands of one wife and must manage their children and their families well.
An elder must be blameless. He must be the husband of one wife and have children who are believers and who are not accused of having wild lifestyles or of being rebellious.
Also, he must not accumulate wives for himself (otherwise, his affection will become diverted), nor accumulate for himself excessive quantities of silver and gold.
