Then Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to the disciples, "Sit here while I go over there [and] pray." And taking along Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to be distressed and troubled. Then he said to them, "My soul is deeply grieved, to the point of death. Remain here and stay awake with me." read more.
And going forward a little he fell down on his face, praying and saying, "My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me. Nevertheless, not as I will, but as you [will]." And he came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and he said to Peter, "So, were you not able to stay awake with me one hour? Stay awake and pray that you will not enter into temptation. The spirit [is] willing, but the flesh [is] weak!" Again for the second time he went away [and] prayed, saying, "My Father, if this cannot pass unless I drink it, your will must be done." And he came again [and] found them sleeping, {for they could not keep their eyes open}. And leaving them again, he went away [and] prayed for the third [time], saying the same thing again. Then he came to the disciples and said to them, "Are you still sleeping and resting? Behold, the hour is near, and the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners. Get up, let us go! Behold, the one who is betraying me is approaching!" And [while] he was still speaking, behold, Judas--one of the twelve--arrived, and with him a large crowd with swords and clubs, from the chief priests and elders of the people. Now the one who was betraying him had given them a sign, saying, "[The one] whom I kiss--he is [the one]. Arrest him!" And he came up to Jesus immediately [and] said, "Greetings, Rabbi," and kissed him. And Jesus said to him, "Friend, [do that] for which you have come." Then they came up [and] laid hands on Jesus and arrested him.

And they came to a place {named} Gethsemane, and he said to his disciples, "Sit here while I pray." And he took along Peter and James and John with him, and he began to be distressed and troubled. Stay awake and pray that you will not enter into temptation. The spirit [is] willing, but the flesh [is] weak!" And again he went away [and] prayed, saying the same thing. And again he came [and] found them sleeping, {for they could not keep their eyes open}, and they did not know what to reply to him. And he came the third [time] and said to them, "Are you still sleeping and resting? It is enough! The hour has come. Behold, the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners. Get up, let us go! Behold, the one who is betraying me is approaching!" And immediately, [while] he was still speaking, Judas--one of the twelve--arrived, and with him a crowd with swords and clubs, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders. Now the one who was betraying him had given them a sign, saying, "[The one] whom I kiss--he is [the one]. Arrest him and lead [him] away under guard!" And [when he] arrived, he came up to him immediately [and] said, "Rabbi," and kissed him. So they laid hands on him and arrested him.

And he went away [and] proceeded, according to [his] custom, to the Mount of Olives, and the disciples also followed him. And [when] he came to the place, he said to them, "Pray that you will not enter into temptation." And he withdrew from them about a stone's throw and {knelt down} [and] began to pray, read more.
saying, "Father, if you are willing, take away this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will but yours be done." [[ And an angel from heaven appeared to him, strengthening him. And being in anguish, he began praying more fervently and his sweat became like drops of blood falling down to the ground.]] And [when he] got up from the prayer [and] came to the disciples, he found them sleeping from sorrow, and he said to them, "Why are you sleeping? Get up [and] pray that you will not enter into temptation!" [While] he was still speaking, behold, [there came] a crowd, and the one named Judas, one of the twelve, leading them. And he approached Jesus to kiss him. But Jesus said to him, "Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?" And [when] those around him saw what was about to happen, they said, "Lord, should we strike with the sword?"

[When] Jesus had said these [things], he went out with his disciples to the other side of the ravine of the Kidron, where [there] was a garden into which he and his disciples entered. (Now Judas, the one who betrayed him, also knew about the place, because Jesus often gathered there with his disciples.)
