And when Jesus had finished these parables, he departed thence: And coming into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished and said, Whence hath HE this wisdom and these mighty works? Is not this the carpenter's son? Is not his mother called Mary? And his brethren, James and Joses and Simon and Judas? read more.
And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath HE all these things? And they were offended at him. But Jesus said to them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house. And he wrought not many mighty works there, because of their unbelief.

And he went out from thence and came into his own country, and his disciples follow him. And on the sabbath he taught in the synagogue, and many hearing were astonished, saying, Whence hath this man these things? And what wisdom is this that is given him, that such mighty works are wrought by his hands? Is not this the carpenter? The son of Mary, the brother of James and Joses, and of Judas and Simon! And Jesus said to them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kindred, and in his own house. And he could do no miracle there, save that he laid his hands on a few sick and healed them. And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about thro' the villages teaching.

And it hath often cast him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him; but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us and help us. Jesus saith to him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. And straightway the father of the child crying out, said with tears, Lord, I do believe: help thou mine unbelief.
