From that time Jesus began to show his disciples that he had to leave for Jerusalem and endure great suffering at the hands of the elders and high priests and scribes, and be killed and raised on the third day. Peter took him and began to reprove him for it; "God forbid, Lord," he said, "This must not be." But he turned and said to Peter, "Get behind me, you Satan! You are a hindrance to me! What profit will it be if a man gains the whole world and forfeits his own soul? What will a man offer as an equivalent for his soul? For the Son of man is coming in the glory of his Father with his angels, and then he will reward everyone for what he has done.
