Rise, let us be going: Behold, he is at hand that shall betray me." While he yet spake, Lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came: and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, which were sent from the chief priests and elders of the people. And he that betrayed him, gave them a token, saying, "Whosoever I kiss, the same is he: lay hands on him." And forthwith-all he came to Jesus, and said, "Hail master." And kissed him. And Jesus said unto him, "Friend, wherefore art thou come?" Then came they and laid hands on Jesus and took him.

And he that betrayed him had given them a general token, saying, "Whosoever I do kiss, he it is, take him, and lead him away warily." And as soon as he was come, he went straightway to him, and said unto him, "Master, master," and kissed him. And they laid their hands on him, and took him.

And Jesus said unto him, "Judas, betrayest thou the son of man with a kiss?" When they which were about him saw what would follow, they said unto him, "Lord, shall we smite with a sword?"
