Jesus answered him, "It is written, Not by bread alone shall man live, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God." "If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down; for it is written, "He will give his angels charge over thee; Upon their hands they will bear thee up, Lest thou dash thy foot against a stone." Then the devil took Jesus to a very high mountain, and showed all the kingdoms of the earth and the glory of them, and said to him, "All these will I give you, if you will fall down and worship me."
