Thematic Bible: Sufferings of

Thematic Bible

In the midst of the feast, Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.

and he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,

And Jesus went out and saw much people, and had compassion on them, because they were like sheep which had no shepherd. And he began to teach them many things.

And he taught in their synagogues, and was commended of all men.

And he entered into one of the ships, which pertained to Simon, and prayed him, that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down and taught the people out of the ship.

The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, "Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher which art come from God. For no man could do such miracles as thou doest, except God were with him."

and early in the morning came again into the temple. And all the people came unto him; And he sat down, and taught them.

Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?"

For I say unto you that, yet, that which is written must be performed in me: for those things which are written of me have an end."

Notwithstanding, I must be baptised with a baptism. And how am I pained till it be ended?

saying that the son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again."

and said unto them, "Thus is it written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise again from death the third day.

And Jesus said, "Who is it that touched me?" When every man denied, Peter and they that were with him, said, "Master, the people thrust thee and vex thee: and thou sayest, 'Who touched me?'"

And anon many gathered together, insomuch that now there was no room to receive them: no, not so much as about the door. And he preached the word unto them.

For he had healed many, insomuch that they pressed upon him, for to touch him, as many as had plagues.

It came to pass as the people pressed upon him, to hear the word of God, that he stood by the lake of Gennesaret:

Then came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for press.

Ye are they which have bidden with me in my temptations.

Whosoever transgresseth and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that endureth in the doctrine of Christ, hath both the father, and the son.

And it came to pass, that when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:

And he taught them many things in similitudes, and said unto them in his doctrine,

There is another that beareth witness of me. And I am sure that the witness which he beareth of me is true.

And the father himself, which hath sent me, beareth witness of me. Ye have not heard his voice at any time; Nor yet have seen his shape.

If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater. For this is the witness of God, that God hath born of his son.

And Elimelech, Naomi's husband, died; and she remained with her two sons

When he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, which was the only son of his mother, and she was a widow, and much people of the city was with her.

And there cried a certain woman of the wives of the children of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, "Thy servant my husband is dead, and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD. And the creditor is come to fetch my two sons, to be his bondmen."

Peter arose and came with them: And when he was come, they brought him into the chamber, and all the widows stood round about him weeping and showing the coats and garments which Dorcas made while she was with them.

"Up, and get thee to Zarephath a city of Sidon, and dwell there. Behold, I have commanded a widow there to sustain thee."

And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.

And there was a certain widow in the same city, which came unto him saying, 'Avenge me of mine adversary.'

And they departed from Bethel, and when he was but a field breadth from Ephrata, Rachel began to travail. And in travailing she was in peril.

they shall stand in fear, carefulness and sorrow shall come upon them, and they shall have pain, as a woman that travaileth with child. One shall ever be abashed of another, and their faces shall burn like the flame.

I have long time holden my peace, sayeth the LORD, should I therefore be still, and keep silence for ever? I will cry like a travailing woman, and at once will I destroy, and devour.

A woman when she travaileth hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.
