As a roaring lion, and a charging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people.

Hear this, I pray you, you heads of the house of Jacob, and rulers of the house of Israel, that abhor justice, and pervert all equity. They build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity. Her heads judge for reward, and her priests teach for hire, and her prophets divine for money: yet will they lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? no evil can come upon us. read more.
Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed like a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps of ruins, and the mountain of the house like the high places of the forest.


Then spoke the priests and the prophets unto the princes and to all the people, saying, This man is worthy to die; for he has prophesied against this city, as you have heard with your ears.

The word of the LORD that came to Micah the Morasthite in the days of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, which he saw concerning Samaria and Jerusalem.

Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and its kings, and its princes, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, a hissing, and a curse; as it is this day;

But I will send a fire upon Judah, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem.

And I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them. Why have you prophesied in the name of the LORD, saying, This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate without an inhabitant? And all the people were gathered against Jeremiah in the house of the LORD.


And he burned the house of the LORD, and the king's house, and all the houses of Jerusalem, and every great man's house burned he with fire.

Our holy and our beautiful house, where our fathers praised you, is burned up with fire: and all our pleasant things are laid waste.

They have cast fire into your sanctuary, they have defiled by casting down the dwelling place of your name to the ground.
