Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what is the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

He that refuses instruction despises his own soul: but he that hears reproof gets understanding.

In the lips of him that has understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.

He that is void of wisdom despises his neighbor: but a man of understanding holds his peace.

Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out.

Happy is the man that finds wisdom, and the man that gets understanding.

He that gets wisdom loves his own soul: he that keeps understanding shall find good.

This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you no longer walk as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto licentiousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

He that tills his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that follows vain persons is void of understanding.

The blacksmith with the tongs works in the coals, and fashions it with hammers, and works it with the strength of his arms: yea, he is hungry, and his strength fails: he drinks no water, and is faint. The carpenter stretches out his rule; he marks it out with a line; he fashions it with planes, and he marks it out with the compass, and makes it after the figure of a man, according to the beauty of a man; that it may remain in the house. They have not known nor understood: for he has shut their eyes, that they cannot see; and their hearts, that they cannot understand. And none considers in his heart, neither is there knowledge nor understanding to say, I have burned part of it in the fire; yea, also I have baked bread upon its coals; I have roasted flesh, and eaten it: and shall I make the rest of it an abomination? shall I fall down to a block of wood?

He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalts folly.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endures forever.

Smite a scoffer, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that has understanding, and he will understand knowledge.

Only the LORD give you wisdom and understanding, and give you charge concerning Israel, that you may keep the law of the LORD your God.

And we know that the Son of God is come, and has given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty gives him understanding.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge and discretion. The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogance, and the evil way, and the perverse mouth, do I hate. Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.

Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the LORD my God commanded me, that you should do so in the land where you go to possess it. Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

A man void of understanding gives pledge, and becomes surety in the presence of his neighbor.

And to know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge, that you might be filled with all the fullness of God.

And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Have you not known? have you not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, faints not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

When wisdom enters into your heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto your soul; Discretion shall preserve you, understanding shall keep you: To deliver you from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaks perverse things; read more.

Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.

Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all your getting get understanding.

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God has showed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and deity; so that they are without excuse:

There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.

How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!

Therefore be not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that has it: but the instruction of fools is folly.

Good understanding gives favor: but the way of transgressors is hard.

The LORD by wisdom has founded the earth; by understanding has he established the heavens.

A fool has no delight in understanding, but that his heart may express itself.

O LORD, how great are your works! and your thoughts are very deep. A senseless man knows not; neither does a fool understand this.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart; and lean not unto your own understanding.

For the LORD gives wisdom: out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding.

Say unto wisdom, you are my sister; and call understanding your kinswoman:
